RULES AND FAQ PAGE

Please review our rules. While we try to have some fun with this list, the rules must be followed.

Is there a speed limit at the drive-in?
Yes, Our Speed Limit Is 5 Miles Per Hour ...Please watch out for pedestrians and unexpected conditions on the drive-in property. Our goal is to have as few people run over in the dark as possible.

May I switch screens between movies?
No. Contractual obligations with the film companies do not permit switching screens,  Each numbered ticket is designated for a certain screen consisting of two movies.

The admission for that ticket gets paid to that particular film company. If you switch screens, the film company for the second screen does not get paid for their movie.

Though, for some reason a few of you refuse to believe that the film companies send checkers out for this, THEY DO! and then WE get billed the full ticket price for each person over the number of tickets sold for that screen.

We can not afford to buy you a second ticket every time you switch screens. If the screen switching continues, we may be forced  to eliminate the double features altogether.

May I park where ever I want?
Yes and NO. Each vehicle is entitled to one parking space. Please park close enough to the post to allow space for another vehicle to park in the space next to you.

All trucks, vans, suvs and any vehicle higher the the standard passenger car must park next to one of the red poles towards the rear or outer perimeter of the lot.

All hatches and open trunks, etc. must be tied down to the roof level of the vehicle. (Free string is available at the concession stand)

This is done at all drive-ins to allow the people in regular cars to have an unobstructed view of the screen.

Our lot attendants and managers are not permitted to argue with patrons about this parking policy. They are instructed to inform patrons of our policies. If the patron chooses not to follow our rules, they will simply be asked to leave the theatre property.

Any patron that refuses to leave the theatre property as instructed, will be considered a trespasser and  will be removed and charged with trespassing by the local police

May I sit on my roof?
Not only can you not sit on top of your vehicle, Nothing can be placed on the roof of any vehicle. This includes dogs, cats, the aunt that you never liked, flower pots, washing machines, lighted pizza delivery signs or anything else.

 How big are your screens?
We are the home of one of the largest outdoor theatre screens in the USA!
Our main screen is 120 feet wide. If a wider one exists anywhere, let us know.
Our 3 other screens measure between 60 and 48 feet wide.

May I bring in my own food?
Yes and NO. Outside food and beverages are restricted.
The success and continued operation of this theatre is directly connected to our concession stand sales.
Most people don’t realize that the film companies are now charging the theatres as much as 90% of the box office ticket sales for film rental....For this reason, The Winter Drive-In has joined most of the other drive-ins and entertainment venues across the country in restricting outside food or drinks from being consumed while on theatre property.
While we strive to provide great food and beverages at our newly renovated concession center, We understand that some of our customers prefer to bring their own food & drinks.
We now sell an OUTSIDE FOOD PERMIT that is available at the box office. Each permit cost $5.00 per vehicle. The permit is valid for the day of admission only, a new permit must be purchased with each visit.
This permit must be purchased at the box office at the time that you enter the theatre.
This policy will be strictly enforced! Violators will be ejected from the drive-in and future admission will be denied.

  Is there a dress code?
Yes there is. No shoes, No shirts, No service! State and local health codes require shirts and shoes to be worn to enter the concession center and restrooms. Shoes must be worn at all times while on theatre property.

  Do we provide child care?
No we don't.  Parents: You are responsible for your children. Please keep visual contact of your children at all times!

My dog is angry because he can't come to the drive-in anymore!
Sorry Rover, we love our pets too, but SOME HUMANS had to go and screw it up for everybody. Now, our insurance company no longer allows pets of any kind.  Say hi to Buck Bundy, Dino Flintstone & Brian Griffin for us.

Your concession stand prices are ridiculous, Everyone else's prices are lower !
We hear this from time to time. The truth is, our concession prices are about the same or lower than every other entertainment venue. Like amphitheatres, sporting arenas, indoor movie theatres, or any other venue that presents entertainment provided by others, We make next to nothing on the ticket sales. The concession stand is the only source of income that keeps the drive-in operating.

May I demonstrate how great I think my car audio system is?
No. Please be considerate of those around you. If we get complaints or even think we may get complaints, we will require you to turn it down.

May I listen to my own music before the movie and during intermission?
We require that all radios be tuned to our radio stations.
We make announcements regarding parking, correct radio frequencies for the proper movies, concession specials, lost children, weather emergencies, etc.
It's also a good idea to find the right frequency for your movie BEFORE THE MOVIE STARTS rather than miss the beginning of your movie while you run to the concession stand to get the proper frequency that may have been given in an earlier announcement that you weren't listening to.

Sometimes, I can just be a total idiot and disturb everyone around me. Is that ok?
No. Just No! Act your age, be considerate of those around you or go back to the institution.

May I bring lawn chairs or blankets?
Yes, They must be placed directly in front of your vehicle. Nothing should be placed beside or behind your vehicle. We have had a few "accidents" where people have been injured by moving vehicles in the dark. Please be careful when you are outside of your vehicle.

May we have a tailgate party at the drive-in?
Yes, as long as you don't disturb those around you, but remember, No grilling, open flames, fireworks, disorderly conduct, horn honking or visible alcoholic beverages.

What if I see someone vandalizing theatre property?
We will offer a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of anyone caught vandalizing theatre property.
A small percentage of low life individuals feel the need to vandalize and deface theatre property. We will prosecute any and all parties involved to the fullest extent of the law.

I don't like the movie or it started to rain. Can I have my money back?
No. Just like concerts, sporting events, etc, we do not issue refunds. The only exception to this policy would be an event that would prevent the continued projection of the film. If such an event would occur, we would issue a re-admission pass.

Do you cancel shows if it rains?
Never say never. On rare occasions, if it's going to be one of those "all night" rains and we only have a couple of cars AT SHOW TIME, we may opt to refund their admission and offer a free pass to come back at another time.

I forgot my favorite blanky. Can I go home and get it and then come back?
No re-admissions are permitted. If you leave the theatre property you must purchase another ticket to re-enter. We are checked by the film companies and we are bound by their contracts regarding admissions.

My parents tell me about how they used to sneak into the drive in.  Should I try it?
No. First of all most of them didn't actually do it, and if they did, they should be put in the cone of shame.
The other reason is that entering the theatre without purchasing a ticket is illegal. This theatre will file theft of services charges with the local police for all persons entering without purchasing a ticket.

How do I find a good parking place in the dark?
You can't! That's why you should come at the advertised "gates open" time. We are always baffled as to why a lot of people come just before the movie starts and complain to our employees that they missed the beginning of their movie because they were in the box office line at show time...Come Earlier!

Why do I have to turn off my headlights?
Because they are a distraction to all the people that actually came on time and are trying to enjoy their movie!
Please turn off your headlights while movies are showing. If you go slow, your parking or driving lights should provide sufficient light to guide your way through the drive-in. Parking lights must be turned on at all times while your vehicle is moving.

I just get so excited every time I see this movie Can I bring my camera and record it?
No. The recording of copyrighted material is illegal. No cameras, video or audio recording devices are permitted on the premises.

May I reserve spaces for my friends?
No. It's first come first serve parking. Either come early to get a place by your friends or come on a slower weeknight.

Does the drive-in assume responsibility for injury or damage?
No. We can not be held responsible for lost or stolen items, damages to vehicles or personal property, personal injury resulting from altercations between patrons, etc.

May I book a special event or even rent out the entire drive-in like Elvis used to?
Yes. We have many options available. Send us an email.

How late does the concession center stay open?
We announce the closing and any specials on our radio systems shortly after the last movie starts. The concession stand closes approximately 15 minutes later.

Why don't you show older movies?
Usually the older movies are no longer available on 35mm film.

My vehicle has automatic headlights or daytime driving lights. How do I turn them off?
They all can be turned off. Check your owner's manual for instructions.

I think your employees are stupid and rude, I hate the drive-in!
While most of our employees do their best to provide the best possible service, sometimes things slip through the cracks. If you have an unpleasant experience, Please send us an email and let us know.

How can I advertise at the drive-in?
We have many options available including: audio spots on our pre-show radio, billboard type signs located within the drive-in, hand outs or flyers, you can even rent our marquee over the winter months. Got an idea, Send us an email.

Why do you have so many rules?
The rules have become necessary to operate this or any drive-in theatre.
Some of the rules are due to contractual obligations with the companies that provide the film.
Some of the rules are reactionary to prevent the reoccurrence of injury or damage.
And some of the rules are to insure that the majority of our patrons can enjoy a night of great
movies without distractions from other patrons.

  Thank you!
